VAIO VGNFW390-CTO won't connect wirelessly |

Hey guys, I've had this laptop for a few month and i've never had the need to connect wirelessly up until recently. The wireless does work as our other laptop can connect. I'm running W7 64bit(discounted student upgrade). I can post specs and whatnot... just wondering if someone could help me out as wireless may be the only way to connect soon.

Greetings and welcome!
Not being familiar with W7 yet I am not quite sure if it has "Control Panel". If it does, that would be the first place I would start. Go to "SYSTEM"---"HARDWARE"---"DEVICE MANAGER" and make sure that the driver is installed for your Vaio's wireless card. If you see a yellow ! or ? you will need to install the driver.
Does your wireless router support W7? You may need to do a firmware update on the router.
Do you have a WEP or WPA code set on your router that needs to be entered?
Lastly, have you tried to connect to your router using a CAT5 cable to connect using the NIC card in your Vaio? If you can connect hard wired it eliminates the incompatibility of your router.
Some things to try.

Welcome to the forum. Can you connect to the internet via cable thur the network port of your laptop ?

Hey guys, thanks for the replies. Forgot to mention that i'm connected thru the router via ethernet cable... just can't seem to have it connect wireless. it sees my network, wpa is entered and then all it does then is connects and disconnects and repeats.
the drivers are all installed and updated. And the router itself is the Linksys wireless g wrt54g. never had a problem with the wireless on any other computer.
Hope this is a little more accurate.

O.K. then. No problem with your connection via ethernet cable. The next thing to check is the wireless on/off switch located on the laptop. Just make sure it's set to "On".
Still check that your wireless drivers don't have the yellow (warning) indicators in the Device Driver menu, as outlined in jttar's append.
