I have a KDL46v25L1 TV showing the red light blinking 4 times.  According to the manual I have a backlight failure.  I don't see anything in the manual that shows me a backlight.  I have the back cover off but no help.  Can you tell me what I need to replace and where it's located?  I'm new to the forum so any help will be appreciated.

The back lighting is an integral part of the the LCD panel, meaning that the LCD panel may need to be replaced.  Unfortunately, I am unable to locate Sony information on how to troubleshoot this issue.  It could be that the actual problem is the power supply or inverter that powers the back lighting.

    Jehill,

Thanks for the response.  Can you tell me where the inverter is located?  I don't see it in the manual and I don't find a part number for it.

    Jim

Unfortunately, it looks like the inverter is built-in to the LCD panel as well.  The inverter appears in the block diagram along with the backlight in the Panel (FHD).
