Hi, I found this site the other day while trying to figure out why my KDS-R50XBR1 was blinking red 4 times. I found the answer about the fan. While waiting for the fans to arrive I have been starting it with the nifty toothpick trick I read here. Today it went out and has started blinking red 5 times which I understand is the lamp driver. Is that equally as easy to install as the fans? More importantly, is this just the start of something bigger. Thanks for your time.

Hi Cashannon,
Circling back to see if you had any updates on this issue. I think I sent you the service manual for the KDS-R50XBR. Did you have any luck fixing the television?

Hi Claudio,
You didn't send me the service manual but I could certainly use one please. I just received two fans and the lamp driver today. I'll let you know how it goes if you tell me what to do with this thing...
Thank you so much for your time and help.

Will check and the manual updates. Sometimes they are sent but caught up in spam. Will send shortly and post it here when I do. So you can check the inbox and spam filter.

Thank you so much for your help. I await the manual. You won't believe this but when my fiance and I started taking it apart last night we found the lamp had basically exploded as well. Can I fairly safely assume that was from overheating due to the lamp or should I just go television shopping? Thanks again.

Hi Cashannon,
It looks like it overheated. Does it get enough ventalation? Did any lamp parts exploded outside the lamp housing? Also, in the FAQ forum there is a section on how to improve lamp life and about HEAT which is the lamp's worst enemy. Also, check on how many hours there, this is also in the faq section. Also are the fans working as well?
Also, didn't see your manual request so I'm going to post it here to download since you are a premium member. Once you have downloaded, please let me know and I will remove the share option on the link. Thanks.
