| Television Troubleshooting | KP-57ws520 Need new G-Board! | geosen | 2 | 2009-11-15 23:00 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I have the KP-57WS520 and it developed the 9-blink issue. I read the posts here and ordered the two replacement diodes for the G-board. I used a solder gun to heat the diodes while waiting because I read that soldering, or applying heat, can help. It did help and the tv worked normal for several weeks. When it developed the 9-blinks again, I had the parts already. The D6301 was no problem but the D6116 worried me because it is so small. I asked a friend with a lot of soldering experience to help. He took the board but while working on it, lost the diode. I ordered another one. How |

Hi Guys, Those that remember me will know how much I like the DA9000ES, but I think I may have been guilty of over-looking its capability. I thought it was very transparent, but a bit weak in the bass and let-down slightly by its analogue inputs. I later found that all processors are compromised by digital conversion of analogue inputs...I embraced Blu-ray from the start, and have be |

| First 650 characters of this post | I solved the picture quality problem! I discovered a bad solder joint on the board attached to the back of the tube. The bad solder joint was at the point where the the white wire from the flyback transformer connects to the board. The picture is great now.
Now, I am waiting for the new IC\'s to come in. |

| First 650 characters of this post | Thank you BobF. good idea cutting away the supports without unscrewing the board from the undercarriage. on the XS955 the entire carriage can be raised but need support to hold it up. The manual really sucks anyways think your suggestion is best as I did think of it but didn\'t want to tackle it. that was some move to splice the wire but ....all I seen was a clip that can be taken off. I saw where a Goetz paid 23 bux or more for those ICs, got them for $4.99 each from a place called Suburban Electronics.......Will let you know how I make out when I get back to my sons |
| Television Troubleshooting | KP-61V80 no sound, convergence bad | Judogi | 4 | 2009-10-25 18:49 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Yep, replaced both convergence IC\'s, 1506 and 1502. I found the service manual, and started checking some of the TP\'s, seems voltages everywhere I check are good. Those two IC\'s in particular are getting 15v and -15v as they should. The audio amp voltages (IC1504 I think) on the A board check out good as well. All of the self-diag values are 000.
Nothing is smoking yet, so I\'m guessing there is still hope for it? |

| First 650 characters of this post | Welcome to Agoraquest! For the kdf46e2000, 6 blinks, pause, 6 blinks, etc. means \"LowB LVP Thermal Fuse Open\" and the probable cause / location listed is as follows:Check 10.5V audio IC (B board). This is the starting point for a qualified service technician. I find the wording confusing. Are they suggesting to check the audio IC 10.5V input for the presence of 10.5V? I suspect so. I think that I would try replacing the thermal fuse located as indicated below:SubjectThermal fuse part number |
| Television Troubleshooting | KV-32XBR450 LED Flashes Times | jehill | 4 | 2009-10-15 18:06 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Welcome to Agoraquest! You are correct. The output of D6530 on the D board is present between CN6005 Pin 1 (+) and 3 or 6 (-). D6530 is a full-wave bridge rectifier. The maximum output of such a rectifier is the peak-to-peak value of the input. That\'s 2.828 times the root-mean-square (RMS) voltage input, in this case, 120VAC. Thus, the maximum output is 2.828 x 120 = 339.36V.Perhaps there is a loose or poor connection between the D and A boards. Check the voltage between the same pins on CN6501 on the D board. If you get the same results |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hi Stoffie, Yeah, I'd love to pick up a CDP-R1/DAC-R1. I'm running out of space though, so don't know where I'd put them! CDP-R3 might be the way to go. They come up for sale every couple weeks, but still go for $500 or so and not sure how much longer the lasers will last. I also have a feeling they wouldn't be any better than the TEAC I have now, but it sure would be cool to complete the set :-) Looks like you have a pretty impressive Sony collection yourself! Those Esprit units are beautiful. You know a TA-E900 just sold for >$4000 USD on Yahoo Auctions |

| First 650 characters of this post | Welcome to Agoraquest! I searched the service manual for \"fuse\" and determined that the thermal fuse is connected to CN8014, a five pin connector on the A board, pins 5 and 6. You need to locate the A board, then the two wires mentioned and follow them to where ever they go. You might find the service manual of value. You may order it at http://www.agoraquest.com/manual_request.php. |

| First 650 characters of this post | Welcome to Agoraquest! The IR sensor is located on the H3 board, part number A-1092-254-A. I have no idea where it may be purchased in Europe. There is also a service bulletin, 05TV230, \"No Remote Control Operation, Malfunctioning LEDs\". It deals with an interconnecting cable and connectors that could be damaged. If you want it, you will have to become a Premium member and send me (jehill) a private message (PM) requesting it. | First 650 characters of this post | Hi everyone! I'm a newb around here so be gentle with me (lol).I have a Sony Rear Projection TV model # kp-48v85. It's been doing the 5 blinking light thing for ages and I finally dove into it yesterday armed with schematics. After blowing a lot of dust off of the boards and checking all connections the TV turned on for the first time in over a year. It is now showing one steady blink and the Red lamp isn't working. I've looked all over for a replacement lamp and am wondering where is the best place to go for one? It needs a 07MXC3R / 873357235. Any ideas? Thanks i |
| Television Troubleshooting | KDL-40V4100 No power up, blinking 3 times, swapped main board "posterized" | computerexpert | 2 | 2009-09-28 11:09 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I have a KDL-40V4100 that wasn't powering up with the red LED blinking was continually blinking a series of 3 times. After viewing this forum I found this is usually a power problem. I was able to obtain a set of boards off of eBay and tried the power board. Same problem. I then swapped the main controller board. The TV powered up and worked except that the colors were "posterized" or glaring. When the menu is displayed the picture looks normal in the background, with lower intensity.
