I purchased a PAL to NTSC converter and get good color and picture, but it rapidly scrolls down the screen.The set is powered through a power step down transformer (220 50Hz down to 110 50Hz). Regarding the reduction of power for the 4 ohm ratings, I can tell you that there are two different power supply voltages and that the STRDA3200ES System Settings include a SP. IMPEDANCE setting (the mechanical switch has been eliminated). I have a KV-27FV310 WEGA that\'s been cropping off the tops and sides of some channels and dvds for far too long. I\'ve never used the service mode settings, so I\'m wondering how to reduce the overscan safely without adjusting anything else. Very annoying that a $300 computer monitor has every geometry control one could hope for in plain view but a $600 TV needs obscure and risky adjustments.

| First 650 characters of this post | I\'ve had a Sony WEGA KV-27FS120 television for about two weeks and have corrected the 16:9 oversqueeze but there\'s another problem that\'s causing a slightly distorted picture. Specifically, there\'s an outward pincushion-type effect at the top of the screen.
This is present in both regular and 16:9 mode and with both RCA and S-video connections (I don\'t have a component cable to test). | First 650 characters of this post | As the originator of this thread, and having received the STRDA5000ES which I ordered a couple of days ago, some first impressions:- installation and hookups went smoothly. Big warning label glued onto top of receiver casing showing the correct way to thread the speaker cables onto the connectors. Connectors have the plastic surround strip often mentioned on this site as an indicator of a newer model. I suspect many problems were caused by improper speaker hookups or shorting-out of the connections against the back panel.- the unit is heavy but not quite as heavy as the old Marantz |

I\'m an amateur at this stuff and had to do everything by ear, or eye, whatever.
Under the VP1 section:
RCUT
GCUT
BCUT
RDRV
GDRV
BDRV
These setting seem to affect the Red, Blue, and Green content of the TV. I mainly adjusted the Reds and Greens to smooth out the colors.
Under the 16:9 secion:
ABLG 15
ABLG seemed to affect the Black Retention of the TV.
