For Televisions issues, red/green blinking lights, vertical lines, D Board, Lamp Driver and more.
I would vist our "Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products" forum and read the "Television Trouble Shooting Information Packages" thread. There are several service bulletin packages that can help resolve those issues.
For Televisions issues with blue, green, optical block, extending warranty or other related issues
I would visit our new Sony Alert/Warranty recall section at Sony Recall/Warranty Section

First 650 characters of this postI hope someone here can help!I have a KDF-E55A20 purchased in the U.S., but now I live in Germany where PAL is the only video format from satellite receivers. I purchased a PAL to NTSC converter and get good color and picture, but it rapidly scrolls down the screen. The set is powered through a power step down transformer (220 50Hz down to 110 50Hz). I can watch DVD and VHS with no problems. The PAL to NTSC coverter states that if the picture scrolls, then adjust the TV vertical frequency settings. I have searched the Wega Gate menu options a

First 650 characters of this postThe weights that I quoted were direct from the specifications listed in the STRDA3300/STRDG1100 and STRDA3200ES/STRDG1000 service manuals.  Regarding the reduction of power for the 4 ohm ratings, I can tell you that there are two different power supply voltages and that the STRDA3200ES System Settings include a SP. IMPEDANCE setting (the mechanical switch has been eliminated).  I am confident that the same feature is provided in the STRDA3300ES and that the lower power supply voltage is selected when 4 ohm is selected. The STRDA3300/STRDG1100 service manual includes the f

First 650 characters of this postHi, I have a KV-27FV310 WEGA that\'s been cropping off the tops and sides of some channels and dvds for far too long. I\'ve never used the service mode settings, so I\'m wondering how to reduce the overscan safely without adjusting anything else. Very annoying that a $300 computer monitor has every geometry control one could hope for in plain view but a $600 TV needs obscure and risky adjustments. I\'ve been to this site: http://myweb.accessus.net/~090/sonyadj.html but don\'t see a single \"overscan\" or \"scaling\" setting. Is it just a mat

First 650 characters of this postAs someone who just purchased a KDF-E50A10 - can anyone give any insight as to an \'idiot\'s guide\' to tweaking the video performance ?I realized most of you use these DVD helpers - which I guess I can invest in , but I\'m just interested in some basic help regarding to improving the picture quality. Does anyone want to post their specific settings that they changed ?Curious to know if folks who have worked with these DVD\'s have had to go into professional (hidden ?) video setting screens or are they all available from the Wega gate menus....thanks in advance

First 650 characters of this postHi all, I posted about this problem in another forum I frequent, and I was told that I should ask here -- if anyone knows how to fix it, someone here will. Here\'s my original post:Hmm. So I just bought a used Sony Wega, and it looked good when I bought it. But now I have it home, and I can see the geometry is pretty jacked up. I don\'t blame the seller, since I got a good price regardless and I may have dropped it a little too hard while I was trying to move it. So if I need to live with these problems, I can certainly do that. But naturally I\'d like to try to fix it.The

First 650 characters of this postI was wondering what the optimal settings are for the sony kv-27fs200 Wega NON-High definition, for digital Cable (Io from cablevision). I am using a S-video input for video. I was playing around with the \"menu\" settings and i may have changed some settings i shouldn\'t have, and i have no idea what anything means. So what should each \"menu\" \"video\" settings be at, and is there anything else i can fool around with to incease quailty?[ This message was edited by: bigyeah on 2005-04-14 20:14 ] Also what are the best settings for playing games on Xb

First 650 characters of this postExpecting the settings to be pretty close to the component video settings is reasonable, since ALL inputs, including HDMI and DVI inputs are converted to component video before further processing in the current crop of Sony TVs.  HDMI and DVI inputs are immediately converted to component video by a D/A converter.  The processing for VIDEO 7 is identical to that for VIDEO 5 and VIDEO 6 from that point on.  -John Sony A/V System: KV-36XBR450 FD Trinitron WEGA and AVD-LA2500PKG consisting of AVD-C70ES Super Audio CD/DVD Receiver, 4 SS-LA500ED su

First 650 characters of this postHey BassHog-- Well, I have to agree (with the vast majority of posters, anyway) that you have a pretty solid looking setup. Just a couple of questions: -Your AV cabinet looks to be one of Salamander Design\'s Synergy Triple 20 models. How happy are you with the design? Did it go together easily? I\'ve been giving serious thought to the Triple 30 and wouldn\'t mind some feedback on the brand\'s quality (sadly there\'s no showroom for their products in my area). -I\'m replacing a bogus 40\" XBR Wega in the near future, and have been giving serious thought to Sony\'

First 650 characters of this postI\'ve had a Sony WEGA KV-27FS120 television for about two weeks and have corrected the 16:9 oversqueeze but there\'s another problem that\'s causing a slightly distorted picture. Specifically, there\'s an outward pincushion-type effect at the top of the screen. This is present in both regular and 16:9 mode and with both RCA and S-video connections (I don\'t have a component cable to test). It doesn\'t seem as visible when viewing regular cable TV as it does with a DVD, but maybe that\'s just becuase it\'s not as good a signal. It\'s especially noticable when there are staight lin

First 650 characters of this postAs the originator of this thread, and having received the STRDA5000ES which I ordered a couple of days ago, some first impressions:- installation and hookups went smoothly. Big warning label glued onto top of receiver casing showing the correct way to thread the speaker cables onto the connectors. Connectors have the plastic surround strip often mentioned on this site as an indicator of a newer model. I suspect many problems were caused by improper speaker hookups or shorting-out of the connections against the back panel.- the unit is heavy but not quite as heavy as the old Marantz

I\'m an amateur at this stuff and had to do everything by ear, or eye, whatever. Under the VP1 section: RCUT GCUT BCUT RDRV GDRV BDRV These setting seem to affect the Red, Blue, and Green content of the TV. I mainly adjusted the Reds and Greens to smooth out the colors. Under the 16:9 secion: ABLG 15 ABLG seemed to affect the Black Retention of the TV. I know that seems odd that it should effect anything ot

First 650 characters of this postHello fellow Sony customers, A week ago my family remodeled our den and purchased a Sony Wega (KV-27FS120) 27 inch flat screen television to replace an old RCA that called it quits after 10 years. The family and myself would be satisfied with the Vega, except there appears to be a defect. Whenever it displays horizontal lines a certain distance from the top or bottom of the frame, they appear to be curved in the center. This is most noticeable when watching CNN, The Weather Channel and ESPN as they display geometric figures quite often. It’s also distr
