| Television Troubleshooting | We had a 5 blinking, 50WE610 TV and Sony offered us a replacement... | LeighRacin | 3 | 2009-11-11 22:21 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hello,I too have the same TV and have the 5 blinking problems. We had it repaired once already...under extended warranty. Well, now out of warranty the only thing I can find help from Sony with is if we have a \"warped lamp door\". I looked...we do not. However, could you let me know what problem you were having.....in case my tv also falls under that. It is a 2004 KF-50WE610.Figured it was worth a try to look into this more...Thanks! |

| First 650 characters of this post | I also have the KF42WE610 and had the 5 blinking lights issue. I replaced the lamp for $100 about a month ago (before finding this forum) and the new lamp immediately fixed the issue. But now a month later the problem has come back. John, could you please send me the lamp driver replacement/troubleshooting document? Any idea why the new lamp fixed the problem but then it came back a month later? Thanks, Brett |
| Television Troubleshooting | KF-42WE610 No Red Color in picture | Redwing500 | 2 | 2009-09-06 18:31 |
| First 650 characters of this post | My KF-42WE610 has suddenly lost all of the Red color in the picture. I have adjusted both the color and the hue all the way up and all the way down, still no Red color. Not sure if other colors are messed up as well, but Red is gone for sure.Unit turns on immediately, with steady green light (no blinking red light at all), but takes about 10 sections for the picture to begin to appear.Anyone know what this might be? Any part numbers to go along with the problem? Thanks. Kevin |
| Television Troubleshooting | KF-42WE610 5 Blinking Light Code - Fixed ! | metafizx | 2 | 2009-09-03 03:14 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hi, Just reporting back, since this forum helped me fix my TV problem. Sony KF-42WE610 with the dreaded 5 Blinking Light code problem. Display would shut off and then get the code. Ordered the lamp (Sony XL-2100U) and popped that in but it didn't solve the problem.Note: read the info carefully before you buy the lamp, it might not be a Sony part, but a "compatible" part. Still might be ok, but just so you know. Philips actually makes the bulb. Then went to EBay and got the Lamp |

| First 650 characters of this post | KF-42WE610 - Picture and sound for 20 seconds and then 5 blinking lightsLike many others, I have a KF-42WE610 TV that started giving the Power/Standby 5 blink code. I turn on my TV and everything seems normal as I have both picture and sound. Then, after 20 seconds or so, my TV loses both picture and sound for several seconds and then everything comes back to normal for 20 seconds or less. This would repeat until I powered off the TV. During this time my Power/Standby light remains green. When I power off the TV, the Power/Standby light blink |

| First 650 characters of this post | Looks like the lamp needs to be replaced. Has the lamp been replaced or would this be the first time. Usually what occurs for lamp replacement is the TV dies no video or sound after being turned on for 10 seconds to 2 minutes. But yours turns right back on after being turned off automatically which is odd. Normally after it dies, it starts a red blinking action. I think replacing the lamp will fix this issue. Also, replacing the lamp is very easy to do. It should take the technician less then 15 minutes to do. I can changed my for the 50WE610 in about 10 minutes. The hard part is r |
| Television Troubleshooting | Correct part number for Lamp driver | sonones | 6 | 2008-10-16 01:19 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I think I need to replace the lamp driver to fix my KF42WE610 blinking red five times problem. Now I think the correct part is 146879816 and checking with the sony site it's about 116.25. While googling i found http://www.ercservice.com/ballast/sony/146879814.html for about $243. It mentions about ###-16 as a subpart. Which one do I buy? and what do they mean when it |

| First 650 characters of this post | I just joined ... so I haven't gone thru everything on the site, but I have a kf-50we610 which I bought 4 years ago. Last week it started acting up by turning off while I was watching randomly, then blinking six times. I could turn it back on successfully after waiting a minute. A few hours or a few days would go by with a functioning tv but the problem would resurface. I replaced the lamp yesterday and the problem is still there. Could it still be the thermal fuse even though the tv powers on and works for a while before turning off?&nbs |
| Television Troubleshooting | Sony KF-42WE610 LCD TV | tmullins | 4 | 2008-09-26 09:38 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I would like to chime in with some comments about my Sony KF-42WE610 LCD TV. I purchased this TV in October of 2003 from Best Buy for $2,799.00. At the time, I purchased a four year protection plan, but up until now, the TV has never given me any trouble. I could not have been more pleased with the picture and the sound. In the past few months, I had been having trouble getting the TV to turn on right away, until it would no longer turn on at all. The green light in front would blink several times, while making a buzzing sound. The green light would go out, turn red and blink five times. There |
| Television Troubleshooting | lamp door? | claudio | 2 | 2008-08-28 18:17 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Here is the owner manual for kdf-50e2000http://www.sonystyle.com/wcsstore/SonyStyleStorefrontAssetStore/pdf/KDF46E2000.pdfIt could be either the lamp door or the lamp itself. I know I had a the same issue with the 50We610 with the 3 blinks. But I screwed the lamp enclosure in well and it worked. So after replacing the lamp and working for 3 days. it gave the 3 blinking lights. Was there any movement to the TV that might cause the lamp to have moved. |
| Television Troubleshooting | KDF-60WE610 Black Screen/Blinking LED | smata67 | 7 | 2008-08-15 18:39 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Title is wrong, the model number is KF-60WE610.This unit has a manufacture date of October 2003. In August 2007 (about 1 year ago), Circuit City replaced the lamp under warranty (I had 4 year warranty). Today (August 2008-), TV is out: black screen/no sound. About 3 days ago, unit would lose picture and sound and red light would blink 5 times. This was an intermittent problem. I do have the service manual, I see possible reasons listed therein to be "lamp driver faulty." I decide to go in and reseat the lamp. & |
| Television Troubleshooting | 60WE610 Not Turning On - Buzzes, then Power Blinks Green | edman | 2 | 2008-07-26 03:37 |
| First 650 characters of this post | It turned off while viewing and started blinking red 4, maybe 5 times...I counted but it stopped so fast and I just wasn't sure. I have unplugged the box and let it sit but all it does is the same thing, if you turn it on, it goes to a blinking green light, buzzes but never turns on, just keeps blinking green. The buzz is actually coming from a bulb looking thing in the back with the word EPSCO on it about 1" tall and 1/2" wide (I removed the back plate only for viewing...this is the first time its ever been opened). I cannot get error codes to come up on it, |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hi all, I have a 5 yr old KF42WE610. I noticed last week that the picture was getting darker on our screen... it was still working fine but I figured its been 3 yrs since the lamp was last replaced so its probably time. I called our local sony authorized service center to replace the lamp. It took them all of a minute to switch out the lamp. The unit worked for the first few hours after the lamp was replaced, but then would not start up after it was turned off overnight. I was getting the green led standby light, followed by t |
