I would vist our "Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products" forum and read the "Television Trouble Shooting Information Packages" thread. There are several service bulletin packages that can help resolve those issues.

I would visit our new Sony Alert/Warranty recall section at Sony Recall/Warranty Section

First 650 characters of this postThanks jehill.  Before you left your response, I was able to get a hold of an authorized Sony repairman about 30 miles away (my local guy was clueless).  He explained to me that even though I replaced the light 6 mos ago, the symptoms that I was having were in line with a bulb that was bad, but not blown.  He told me that he had just fixed one last week with the same symptoms.  He explained to me that when a bulb first "ignites", that it gets a huge shot of volts (I think he said something like 14,000) and once it gets going (5-10 seconds later), the dri

First 650 characters of this postHi All I have the above problem and was seeking some advice. The TV is 2 years old and has been fine until yesterday. I have read the codes and am slightly confused as some places say Backlight and others V STOP? I have done some Fault finding. I dont think my LCD Screen is at fault as when I disconnect it I get the same fault code. I dont think it is the Inverter Board (PCB2676/7) as when I disconnect that either at output or input I get the same fault. I do not think it is the LVDS Board (400HSC4LV2) as I also get the same fault.

First 650 characters of this postPlease help my sony TV is doing the blinking 5 times thing.  Do you have instructions on how to replace the lamp ballast?  My model # is KDS-R50XBR1.  Thank you so much.   UPDATE:  Even though 5 blinking lights indicated the lamp driver was bad  it turned out to just be the lamp.  We were told this happens quite frequently.  So check the lamp first.  THE lamp driver is a pain to change.  [ This message was edited by: leamer4 on 2009-10-09 20:52 ]

First 650 characters of this postOur KDF-55WF655 is now restarting itself every 3 minutes or so (in the past it restarted occassionally, but now it's doing so perpetually).  By "restart" I mean the picture goes black, audio shuts off, green light flashes as it normally does when first turned on, then the picture comes back, followed in 2-3 seconds by the audio. The Operating Instructions say the flashing green light means "The lamp for the light source is ready to turn on."  Right.  It was just on!Twice this weekend when the set was turned off, the red light went into a fiv

First 650 characters of this postHi!  Thanks in advance for your time.  Here's my story: I've got a Sony KP-61SH10.  It started shutting down and blinking 5 times on the front.   I removed the 'D' board to check for bad solder joints, all seemed very good so I reinstalled 'D' board.  I accidentally plugged one of the connectors (CN517) one pin off center (bad lighting conditions).  Anyway, a lamp on the 'D' board (NL8001) flashed and I unplugged it right away.  The connector I misaligned was sending +5V to ground and -5V to the output of t

First 650 characters of this postMy 60” Sony kdf-60xs955 is turning on and back off repeatedly and when it is starting back up I get five blinking red lights.  My bulb has never been replaced could that be the problem or is it the lamp driver?  FYI-My bulb is going on four years old and it is the original one that came with the TV. Any help would be appreciated. Mike350z[addsig]

I turn on my TV and everything seems normal as I have both picture and sound.  Then, after 20 seconds or so, my TV loses both picture and sound for several seconds and then everything comes back to normal for 20 seconds or less. This would repeat until I powered off the TV. During this time my Power/Standby light remains green. When I power off the TV, the Power/Standby light blink

First 650 characters of this postHello all~ we have a Sony KDP-57WS550. We are getting 10 slow blinking lights followed by 10 fast blinking lights. We have run the self diagnostic tests. According to that, we are getting a HV PROT. I've read on here that it most likely needs the Q8014, Q8013, or R8051 and IC8005 on the "D' board replaced. So, I am writing to find out if anyone knows the actual part numbers for these, where you can purchase them, and the approximate cost. We are looking to sell the TV since we are moving and don't have the room for it anymore, but we want to be as upfront as possible to the estimat

First 650 characters of this postI have a Sony KP-57WV-600 that will come on for about five seconds and then the screen will go black with the diagnostic code of seven blinking lights. From what I've read, this means that "High voltage shutdown. The high voltage has exceeded 33k and the unit goes immediately into safety shutdown. Check power supply regulation and horizontal circuits." For those few seconds when the TV turns on, only the blue and green tubes will power up. I've tried adjusting the screws in the front of the set to no avail. I even switched some of the leads coming out of the box to see if it would help. Any id

It\'s likely different TV\'s use the same warning codes.I\'m posting as I have same LCD TV and wondered if you\'ve experianced the pinkness on the edges on the screen. I prosume it\'s the same age as mine. Also how did you get the service manual as I\'ve been looking for one to see how accessable the CCFL backlight is to replace - to stop the pink!cheers

I called Sony, spoke to a technician, and they informed me that the 7 blinks was a code for the specific type of service the set needed, but told me NOTHING else!. My husband loaded this 198 pound monster up and carried it to our local electronics repair store .. .3 days and $150.00 later I had my set b
