Also, try the new Google Search which searches the entire Agoraquest website. Click here

For Televisions issues, red/green blinking lights, vertical lines, D Board, Lamp Driver and more.
I would vist our "Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products" forum and read the "Television Trouble Shooting Information Packages" thread. There are several service bulletin packages that can help resolve those issues.
For Televisions issues with blue, green, optical block, extending warranty or other related issues
I would visit our new Sony Alert/Warranty recall section at Sony Recall/Warranty Section

First 650 characters of this postAaronB, thanks for the suggestions. I am a total n00b so your suggestions to check for common mistakes were very enlightening to me. I did check 1) 2 way IR is on in the setup menu but no IR blinks were seen through a digital camera 2) Command mode of remote and receiver agree 3) Remote was otherwise functional in controlling my SONY TV I tried toggling the settings back and forth a couple times including setting command mode to AV2 for both receiver and remote but it had no effect. This leads me to believe its a hardware issue... I am the original owne
    Television TroubleshootingKP-57ws520 Need new G-Board!geosen22009-11-15 23:00
First 650 characters of this postI have the KP-57WS520 and it developed the 9-blink issue. I read the posts here and ordered the two replacement diodes for the G-board. I used a solder gun to heat the diodes while waiting because I read that soldering, or applying heat, can help. It did help and the tv worked normal for several weeks. When it developed the 9-blinks again, I had the parts already. The D6301 was no problem but the D6116 worried me because it is so small. I asked a friend with a lot of soldering experience to help. He took the board but while working on it, lost the diode. I ordered another one. How

First 650 characters of this postWelcome to Agoraquest!  According to the service manual, the KDL-40S4100 does not have a self-diagnostic function.  It is recommended that the service technician bring both an A and G, presumably to try swapping out one board at a time.  The A and G board part numbers are below. 57 185709231 A BOARD, MOUNTED 59 185709331 G BOARD, MOUNTEDBoth parts are available at https://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/ac

First 650 characters of this postI have the same problem on my KP-46WT520. However, I called local technicians and everyone says that what repair manual suggests DOES NOT fix the problem and require much more troubleshooting. The estimates I am getting are from $200-$410. The highest was from authorized sony repair shop and he asked $410 to replace D Board. At this point, I need help from this forum. I am thinking of replacing D Borad (part#a1054155a) myself. Can someone please confirm that by replacing D Board, the 10 blink problem will be fixed? Also, according to repair manual, part# a1054155a does not come with

First 650 characters of this postA  simple way to narrow it down it is to remove the transport mechanism cover off the back. You will be able to see the spindle/laser transport. Start the load function from the front panel. While attempting this function, watch to see if your disc will actually spin up to a few hundred rpm. If it does not and perhaps is barely moveing and/or  perhaps squeling alot the your motor is gone. For the laser if you look at the play side of the disc and not see a red dot focusing (look from different angles)on the disc when attempting to read discs then your laser is most likely b

First 650 characters of this postHi, If it\'s power cycling where it\'s turning off and on it could be the ballast/lamp driver. I would clean out the back since it could be due to overheating. Continuously blinking is usually a lamp replacement. You could run the self diagnostic test that is in the Frequently Asked questions thread. I just saw another thread that I just responded to with the same model KDF46E2000 that had optical block issues.Sony will repair it for free until June 2010. Not entirely sure that this is the problem. However, you could call them and they will send a repair person t

First 650 characters of this postYou have a couple of options. You can contact the store you bought it from or contact Sony directly. I would contact Sony directly. The reason below. I checked and it\'s an optical block issue. It\'s not a lamp issue. Optical block issues can cost about $600 to $1000 to replace/repair. However, there is good news. Sony is aware of the issue and will fix the issue free of charge until June 2010 (it was just extend to June 2010) http://www.sony.ca/view/707.htm 2006 Model Year Microdisplay Rear Projection Television Issued: December 24, 2008; 1st Rev

First 650 characters of this postI have  2001 KV36XBR450. Last year I had the code 4 blink, that went away on its own just before I received the new chips. Now I have: "Five blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly." partsstore DOT com

First 650 characters of this postWelcome to Agoraquest!  You have the part number for the lamp block.  Since its easier to replace the lamp than the lamp driver, I would try replacing the lamp block (assembly) again.  The lamp driver part number is 1-468-798-16.  You may order both parts at https://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/index.jsp.  Use the Part Number search to locate the parts.

    Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/CablesBDP2000es vs BDPs5000esmorksbeanbag72009-10-09 20:52
First 650 characters of this postThe BDP-S2000ES is nothing more than a BDP-S1 with a poorer quality audio section and a fancy motorized front panel. It's really not very good. I've had the BDP-S1E, S300 and now the S50000ES. The S300 uses exactly the same innards as the S2000ES but just has a fancy case. I find it incredible that sony had so many different models with exactly the same parts inside. They weren't just slightly similar, they were exactly the same and not made by Sony. The decoding board was an off the shelf one, perhaps Pioneer, the power supply is a very cheap and nasty switched mode

First 650 characters of this postHello All,I recently picked up a Sony STR-DA50ES receiver at a garage sale. It was said to be "not working" and I could see someone had been messing around in it since all the cabinet screws were gone. But, the price was very-very right, and hey, parts is parts, right!? Also, being a clever little cuss, I took a chance that I might be able to actually fix it. (Being a electronics hobbyist, amateur radio op, audio gear bench tech, electrical engineer, etc. for over 30 yrs helps too.
