| Television Troubleshooting | KV32HS420, KV32XBR400, KV32XBR450, KV36HS420, KV36XBR400, KV36XBR450 D board circuit failures | bfwtec65 | 98 | 2008-11-09 13:44 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Well, I can be added to the list of people who have fixed their set by replacing the two ICs (MCZ3001D - IC 6501 and 8001 on circuit board D). I had the blink code that blinked either 6 or 7 times when the set was powered but had no picture or sound. I read the information that was posted. I downloaded a service manual that contains full schematics and helpful information about discharging and disconnecting the CRT high voltage cap safely. You can get to the service manual here: |

| First 650 characters of this post | I have a KV-32HS500 Sony FD Trinitron Wega TV(about 5-6 years old) that started cutting off about 10 months ago and flashing the evil red light at me. Called the local Sony repair shop and $600 later and a replaced power board it worked. After about 3 months it started again. It happens very frequently now. Don't want to call the Sony repair again. It costs $150 for him to show up. The TV is hooked to a home theater system that was installed by a very reputable company in my area. Couple of interesting things we have noticed about the cutting off problem:-we had a new cable box installed |

| Television Troubleshooting | KV-32HS500 Fails to turn on and light blinks 4 times | minderaser | 2 | 2007-12-10 19:22 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I have a Sony model KV-32HS500 that just stopped working. The front panel light blinks 4 times; pauses; then blinks 4 times with repeated frequency. After attempting to turn on the TV, the light then blinks 7 times; pauses; then blinks 7 times. I unplugged the TV for an hour to reset but no luck. Just the 4 blinks again. Could someone please provide what the 4 blink code means and what circuit board is affected. If possible, could you also provide what the 7 blink code means and what board is affected. | First 650 characters of this post | Greetings all. Back in 2002 I bought a new Sony KV-32hs500. Worked wonderfully in SD up until 2004. Had some problem, don\'t recall what unfortunately and had a service tech come out. He replaced a board and everything was fine again. Now I am in the process of building a home-brew DVR. I have an HD tuner card (Hauppauge HVR-1600) and am trying to connect it to the Sony CRT with either the video 7 DVI port or component in for Video 6. I have my DVD player on Video 5 component in. The problem is that it doesn\'t seem that I have access to video 6 or 7. When I flip through the video sources with |

| Blu-Ray/HD DVD | Question about Sony BDP-S300 | superstring | 11 | 2007-08-18 13:49 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hi Folks. I just purchased a new BDP-300 machine. I haven\'t even taken it out of the box yet, but I have a couple of questions. I\'m thinking I may have been premature about my purchase and, depending in part what answers I get to my questions, I may return it unopened. So, on the box it says: 1. Certain circumstances may limit/prevent Blu-ray disc playback or require a HDMI capable HDTV with 1080p display.and 2. HDMI capable HDTV with 1080p display required, image quality and upscaling results will vary. |

jehill and bobf, you guys rock.I had to create a profile just to tell you that.I\'ve got my sony open. Its a kv-32hs500 that died this week.Well, it started about 2 weeks ago, and I didn\'t turn it off for 2 weeks. But I lost electricity today, and .... it was over when I got home.Anyway. I found the D board, and found the circuit locations. For others, if I was above the TV (looking down from heaven I guess), and the screen was at the bottom of my view, and the RF/HDMI inputs were at the top of my view of things..... these |
| Television Troubleshooting | KV-32HS500 Blink Code 5 | stinkindiesel | 4 | 2007-01-12 09:07 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Posted this earlier but typoed the subject. I couldn\'t find any other way to correct it...I\'ve got a KV-32HS500 here that shows a purple-tinged picture, and it looks as though the red and blue colors are not aligned ( there\'s no green at all, thus the purple appearance). It does this regardless of video source.I\'m getting blink code 5, indicating a \"White Balance Failure.\" I would normally suspect the video drivers on the CH board, but I\'ve swapped in a known good CH board to confirm that\'s not the problem. The other possible culprit listed in the service manual is the |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hello all!!!I have done much \'googling\' and searching to find the info I need below but I always end up finding something which discusses the info atleast one step above what I know how to get to; or other folk start throwing in other model numbers so I am not sure if what I read will apply to my television... so my apologies since I am sure this is a repeat question. If you can even just link me to the info I need it would be greatly appreciated! My problem, I believe, is called color convergence in the picture on the television. | Television Troubleshooting | kv-32hs500 IS WORKING AND SCARED TO TURN OFF | islandace | 5 | 2006-03-17 09:41 |
| First 650 characters of this post | MY KV-32HS500 IF I TURN IT OFF AND THEN BACK ON AT FIRST FLASHED 7 BLINKS. NOW IT FLASHES 6 BLINKS WHEN I TRY TO RESTART. IF I LEAVE IT OFF FOR A DAY IT WILL TURN ON AND STAY ON UNTIL I TURN IT OFF. MY SONY SERVICE GUY SUGGESTED THAT IT WOULD BE EASIER TO FIX IF SET QUIT WORKING ENTIRELY. I HAVE LEFT THIS SET ON FOR 7 DAYS NOW AND IT IS AS GOOD AS NEW AND WILL NOT STOP WORKING. I AM, AS WELL AS MY SERVICE GUY ARE AT A LOSS. IS IT POSSIBLE THAT THE DIAGNOSTIC MODE OF MY SET IS OUT AND IS THERE A WAY TO TEST OR BYPASS. |

| Television Troubleshooting | Frustrated with 3 blinks on KV32HS500 -- is this a common issue? | barrykw | 5 | 2005-09-23 21:57 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Greetings to all!I\'m obviously new here, but I\'m hoping that some kind soul will help answer a few questions for me. I\'ve been reading a lot lately on some of the different forums trying to find out what\'s wrong with my Sony TV - model KV-32HS500. A few weeks back, we heard a small pop after turning the TV on and it hasn\'t worked since. The red LED blinks 3 times and from what I\'ve read that has to do with OVP or OCP. I\'ve also read posts about replacing R6018 and R6019 on the \"G\' board, but I don\'t find that particular board in my TV set.  |
| Television Configuration | Anamorphic squeeze? | emjordan | 5 | 2005-01-03 19:49 |
| First 650 characters of this post | My 32\" Sony WEGA TV (KV-32HS500) has a \"16:9 Enhanced Mode\" that I always leave set on \"Auto.\" Does using the \"anamorphic squeeze\" trick described in this thread accomplish the same thing (i.e., increased resolution for 16:9 enhanced DVDs)? I have never gone into the Service Menu on my TV, nor do I want to for fear of screwing up the settings.-Ted |
| Television Configuration | Turn off 16:9 Enhanced mode | Gollum | 6 | 2004-07-03 20:31 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hi,I have a Sony KV-32HS500 HDTV and an ATI ALL-IN-WONDER 9800 Pro, and I hooked these two together to watch some HD clips from my computer on my TV. The 16:9 modes (1440x1080, 1280x720, etc...) work great, and the TV automaticaly turns the \"16:9 Enhanced\" mode on .But when I chose any 4:3 mode larger than 480p, the \"16:9 Enhanced\" automaticaly goes on.Is there any way to turn the \"16:9 Enhanced\" mode off? Thanks in advance. |
