I think this model is prone to warp door for the lamp door due to the heat. Could be the lamp driver but not entirely sure on that. I would check the lamp area.

| First 650 characters of this post | HELP--I too have a Grand Wega KF-50WE610 that flashes 5 times. I have checked the bulb but according to what I have read on here it most likely is the Sony 1-468-798-16 Lamp Power Supply Block. My questions are this.....Where is the power supply block and how does one replace it? Do I need a manual?I want to fix it myself...well, have my handy husband fix it. He is technically inclined (unlike me) so I know he can do it. My job is to do the research, directions, and then order the part.Any help would be greatly appreciated |

We recommend Sony official parts site at http://servicesales.sel.sony.com/ecom/accessories/web/productSearch.do However, it's more expensive at $200 for the lamp. There are a several site |

| First 650 characters of this post | Looks like the lamp needs to be replaced. Has the lamp been replaced or would this be the first time. Usually what occurs for lamp replacement is the TV dies no video or sound after being turned on for 10 seconds to 2 minutes. But yours turns right back on after being turned off automatically which is odd. Normally after it dies, it starts a red blinking action. I think replacing the lamp will fix this issue. Also, replacing the lamp is very easy to do. It should take the technician less then 15 minutes to do. I can changed my for the 50WE610 in about 10 minutes. The hard part is r |

Of course I had to test this out so I cycled thru the 480i, 720p and 1080i outputs of the DVD Player to see if there was any difference as the different image resolutions appeared on the Grand Wega. |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hello all, I am trying to help a friend who has 60\" Grand Wega LCD Rear Projection TV. Currently he has the issue that the lamp and lamp driver need to be replaced. I am looking to confirm that Sony Part #
146879816 (Lamp Power Supply Block) is in fact the \"lamp driver\" that corresponds to his TV and is what needs to be replaced?
Also I am curious what it takes to replace this part? I am very technically inclined, and have hardware engineering background so I can\'t imagine this is something that is too difficult, just curious what I am getting myself in to?
Thanks muc |
