| First 650 characters of this post | It\'s not nearly as bad a swap as you would think. The 6400ES sonics are pretty darn good. With the auto room calibration, D.L.L., the aability to bi amp the front speakers, support for both network and latest surrond formats, the 6400 is a fine piece. It is certainly much BETTER than one would believe if going simply on reading specs as opposed to actual in house demostrations. The 7100ES faceplate was also damaged during this (albeit not that bad). So, I\'m OK with this at the end of the day. |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hi Stoffie, Yeah, I'd love to pick up a CDP-R1/DAC-R1. I'm running out of space though, so don't know where I'd put them! CDP-R3 might be the way to go. They come up for sale every couple weeks, but still go for $500 or so and not sure how much longer the lasers will last. I also have a feeling they wouldn't be any better than the TEAC I have now, but it sure would be cool to complete the set :-) Looks like you have a pretty impressive Sony collection yourself! Those Esprit units are beautiful. You know a TA-E900 just sold for >$4000 USD on Yahoo Auctions |

| First 650 characters of this post | Amp was received yesterday, and it is beautiful! I disconnected everything in the rack three days before in preperation for the new addition! Right now I only have it hooked up to my cd player (rcd-w500c) through optical and it is amazing! I haven\'t hooked it to the television yet because yesterday morning my HDMI ports decided the were not going to work, So I found my receipt for Samsung TV and realized it is about 2 weeks out of its one year warranty. I started a ticket with Samsung and it looks like they are going to fix it (keep fingers crossed for me) |

| First 650 characters of this post | Richard, I've had a SCD-XA9000ES for about three months now. I didn't get the used unit I had originally mentioned here but instead opted for a brand new unit and have come to the following conclusions. Either A) my NS9100ES is in some way defective (I bought it brand new and all functions appear to working as they should) causing ALL audio outputs, analog and digital(opt., coax, and iLink) to be seriously comprimised, or B) the synergy between the XA and my STR-DA9000ES is FAR superior to that of the NS and DA, or C) the XA is on all outputs sonically FAR superior to |

I also added another LaserDisc player as a supplement to my main LD player: a Pioneer LD-660, which is a top-loading HeNe gas tube player. It's perfect for playing some older discs that may not play as well as they should on my Pioneer DVL- |

| First 650 characters of this post | Mike- It all began for me with upgrading my Line Conditioning to Reference Grade level which enabled me for the first time to be able to notice the results of changes made in the Power Delivery System. The most startling sonic upgrades I have done were accomplished by simply re-terminating power cords with higher quality plugs in that the amount of resistance that a plug induces can be as great or even greater than the resistance of rest of the power cord. I have also experimented with different build quality outlets, but I could not differentiate between using $7 Leviton Hospital Grade IG out |
| Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/Cables | STR-DA3300ES 6.1 or 7.1 speaker setup the way to go? | SergeantYnot | 19 | 2009-09-15 00:51 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Yep, most definitely. Sonically, you would have the surround back channels firing directly behind you, while the surrounds should be perpendicular to your ear. Unfortunately, because of space and furniture limitations, this cannot always be accomplished. In my own home for instance, I\'m forced to have the L/R surrounds on a 45 degree angle to my spot. The main point is, as long as your surround channels somehow encompass your seating environment, you should be good to go.As for Mav\'s suggestion regarding the sound pressure level (SPL), couldn\'t agree mor |

| First 650 characters of this post | I currently have a KDS-60A2000 that I am looking to replace as I want a wall mounted flat panel. The problem is I dont want to lose size , but due to space on the wall I want to mount it on, 60" is the biggest I can go. Is there a 60" Sony Flat in the works that anybody knows about? I love Sony and dont want to stray to Panasonic, Samsung or any of the others. |

It is written in the switched (and unswitched) AC Outlet of TA-E77ES that the max power input is 400W, whilst the max power output of TA-N77ES is 510W. This is consistent with the manual, which mentions such specification for the 'Other Country' versions of TA-E77ES/TA-N77ES (I live in Asia). Logically, this means that the power plug of the TA-N77ES cannot be plugged to the switched outlet of TA-E77ES since the load would be more than the capacity of the outlet. However, since bo |

| First 650 characters of this post | I'm a happy new owner of the S5000ES. Wasn't looking for a new Blu Ray player but my dealer gave me too good of a deal to pass up on thier 41st anniversary sale. I've got two Panasonic players (BD-10A and BD-50). Both worked perfectly with no issues. The S5000ES is a beast of a player that puts both Panny's to shame in regards to build quality. You get what you pay for. The S5000ES is an elegant player in my opinion with a non cluttered front face plate. The disc drawer opens/closes with a smooth motion and is sturdy |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hi Barasn,
I have two SS-X90EDs as front speakers, 5 SS-X70EDs as center, surround and rear surround speakers and one SA-WX900 as a subwoofer. Together with my DVP-NS9100ES/STR-DA7100ES combo, they work some sonic miracles.
In other words, if you are able to get X70EDs for rear, do that by all means. Synergy with your front X90EDs will be better than X30EDs (I am NOT telling that X30EDs is not a great speaker). Even better that you already have one X70ED for your center channel.

| First 650 characters of this post | redwing-nine- This exrordinary ability to drive 4 ohm speakers with athority even at borderline infrasonic frequencies is exactly how the Ultimate AV Benchtests described the Sony STR DA7100ES in this excerpt from their original 2005 review which has earned the DA7100ES the nickname 'The Bass Boss'...Driving all seven channels into 8 ohms, the Sony delivered 159Wpc at 20Hz and 123Wpc at 1kHz (to the nearest watt) before clipping (1% THD+noise). This measurement was repeated several times with the same unusual result. Into 4 ohms, all seven channels operating, it delivered a |

| First 650 characters of this post | I really am at a loss over this. I have a STR-DA9000ES, and a STR-DA7100ES, and I really enjoy the sound and performance from these units. I personally think they are better overall sonically than the units that came after (YMMV).The topology just seems to make perfect sense with digital stream data. I have yet to hear a better implementation for SACD/DVD Audio than the i-link interface, and the ability to pass 24 bit data to the 7100 via HDMI is pretty nice as well. Was it cost that did it in? | First 650 characters of this post | You would need to provide more specs on the amp, specifically what kind of power does it output, at how many channels, and at what impedance rating? The Sony K30s are rated 120wpc 8 ohm speakers...so the Onkyo would drive them perfectly with its current power supply. That\'s why the specs for the B&K are important. For instance, the B&K wouldn\'t be that helpful in your home theater if it was a 4 ohm amp (like the Berhinger A500).By the way, I\'m not suggesting the B&K isn\'t a sonic match to the Onkyo...I have never toyed with gear from e |
