| Television Troubleshooting | kdf46e2000 shuts off, power blinks green many times | claudio | 3 | 2009-11-03 22:44 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hi,
If it\'s power cycling where it\'s turning off and on it could be the ballast/lamp driver. I would clean out the back since it could be due to overheating. Continuously blinking is usually a lamp replacement. You could run the self diagnostic test that is in the Frequently Asked questions thread.
I just saw another thread that I just responded to with the same model KDF46E2000 that had optical block issues.Sony will repair it for free until June 2010.
Not entirely sure that this is the problem. However, you could call them and they will send a repair person t |

| First 650 characters of this post | It’s natural to assume that technology-initiator Sony would be amarket leader in the player category, though the widespreadimplementation of the PS3 might be a bit of a shock. For those whoweren’t swayed towards using a video game machine as a high-definitionunit, Sony also wedged into the mix with their BDP-S350 and S550 models– both of which are excellent players. Naturally, Sony has followed uptheir previous line with the S360 and their step-up model reviewedhere, the S560. As with their other players, Sony’s BDP-S560 naturallystand up against the company’s versatile P |

I couldn\'t resist poping the tops off, so I have some shots of the insides as well...they\'re just as beautiful as the outside! I don\'t have any of the bottoms yet, but they seem to made of some kind of resin (G-Base?) with square ventilation holes in them. | First 650 characters of this post | For the KV40XBR800, 6 blinks, pause, 6 blinks, etc. means \"LOW +B OCP/OVP (overcurrent/overvoltage)\" and the probable cause locations listed are as follows:1. +5 line is overloaded (A, B, M boards)2. +5 line is shorted (A, B, M boards)3. IC504 is faulty (A board)These are starting points for a qualified service technician. These are the same probable causes as for most other sets, including the KV36XBR400 and KV36XBR450. The same chips that fail on thes sets are used in the KV40XBR800. In other words, the same repairs apply. T |

| First 650 characters of this post | After going to sony`s tech site they basically tell you to bring the set to a repair shop cost $100.00 TO LOOK at it/I disconnected my dvr/cable box-Roku box and DVD/VHS recorder. All worked fine for years plugged in. I reset it as instructed by Sony using remote control reset button and power button on TV. I hear sound for 1 second and then it goes into a 6 blinking light standby. I wouldn`t mind trying to repair it myself but never having done something like this before. I can replace hard drives on desktops, install hardware etc. but expected a Sony TV to last at least 10 years. I bou |

| Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/Cables | Does Sony Still Make A Great Receiver? | highfidelity | 26 | 2009-08-16 05:11 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Due to unreliability problems I am now on my third STR-DA5400ES (UK version with H.A.T.S.) however with the SCD-XA5400ES player the combo sounds very good especially via HDMI and even for stereo I find analogue cables especially expensive ones to be a total rip-off. HDMI is the way to go. I persisted with the Sony receiver because of both H.A.T.S. and the Digital Legato Link features the latter makes older CD's sound better.[ This message was edited by: highfidelity on 2009-08-16 05:14 ] |

| First 650 characters of this post | I am a real Sony fan, with lots of Sony products from cell phones to Bravias and camcorders. I have a Digital8 camcorder (DCR-TRV350) and therefore lots of D8 tapes recorded with beloved memories...As I have images in various medias (VHS, VHS-C, D8, memory sticks, etc.) I thought it would be a great idea to buy the multi-function DVD Recorder Sony VRD-MC5. Things went good with the memory stick inputs and AV input. But the Firewire connection simply does not work. I studied a lot in the last 10-15 days, contacted Sony support (very evasive) but no success. The camcorder |
