Also, try the new Google Search which searches the entire Agoraquest website. Click here

For Televisions issues, red/green blinking lights, vertical lines, D Board, Lamp Driver and more.
I would vist our "Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products" forum and read the "Television Trouble Shooting Information Packages" thread. There are several service bulletin packages that can help resolve those issues.
For Televisions issues with blue, green, optical block, extending warranty or other related issues
I would visit our new Sony Alert/Warranty recall section at Sony Recall/Warranty Section

Television Troubleshootingkdf46e2000 shuts off, power blinks green many timesclaudio32009-11-03 22:44
First 650 characters of this postHi, If it\'s power cycling where it\'s turning off and on it could be the ballast/lamp driver. I would clean out the back since it could be due to overheating. Continuously blinking is usually a lamp replacement. You could run the self diagnostic test that is in the Frequently Asked questions thread. I just saw another thread that I just responded to with the same model KDF46E2000 that had optical block issues.Sony will repair it for free until June 2010. Not entirely sure that this is the problem. However, you could call them and they will send a repair person t

First 650 characters of this postYou have a couple of options. You can contact the store you bought it from or contact Sony directly. I would contact Sony directly. The reason below. I checked and it\'s an optical block issue. It\'s not a lamp issue. Optical block issues can cost about $600 to $1000 to replace/repair. However, there is good news. Sony is aware of the issue and will fix the issue free of charge until June 2010 (it was just extend to June 2010) http://www.sony.ca/view/707.htm 2006 Model Year Microdisplay Rear Projection Television Issued: December 24, 2008; 1st Rev

First 650 characters of this postI just wanted to let everybody know that, on 10/23/2009, Sony issued warranty extension alerts for all of their 2007 rear-projection TVs. Now, every Sony rear-projection model ever produced (2003-2007) has been the subject of a warranty extension, a class-action lawsuit, or both. See my informational web site for links and additional information. This also reveals a disturbing, but perhaps not surprising, reality related to the class-action lawsuit Sony settled for the 2005 SXRD models. The "Opinion and Order" in that s

First 650 characters of this postMy KDP-57WS550 rear projection tv will not power on and gives me 5 blinks (video out -white balance failure, apparently?)Anyway, I've located the CR, CG, and CB boards which hold IC9101, IC9201, and IC9301, respectively. However, I have no idea how to actually get the board out to do any work on it.There is a bulb-looking glass thing attached to the center of each board, with several metal prongs (in a circle) holding firmly onto the board. Does the board snap off, of do I need to de-solder the thing to get it off? I'm afraid if I giv

First 650 characters of this postIn addition to the following information that I provided in my response to your PM, the KP-57WS520 utilizes red, green and blue picture tubes.  Only rear projection LCD sets utilize a lamp and a lamp driver. For the KP-57WS520, 5 blinks, pause, 5 blinks, etc. means \"White Balance Failure (not balanced)\" and the probable causes listed are as follows: 1. Video OUT (IC9101, IC9201, IC9301) is faulty (CR, CG, CB) board 2. CRT drive (IC452) is faulty (A board) 3. G2 is improperly adjusted. These are starting points for a qualified service technician. First 650 characters of this postOk, I have a Sony KP-51HW40 Rear Projection TV.  Right now, there is no picture.  Tv comes on, sound comes on, can change channels and everything, just no picture. The front light flashes 5 times, which i've found what it means.  But do not understand how to translate what it means into things for me to check/look/replace. And couldn't find anyone that had the same problem that had a definite solution  Now this happened about 2 weeks ago.  I opened the back of her up and investigated, checked all the fuses and such, cleane

First 650 characters of this post Welcome to Agoraquest!  Actually, there is a KDF-55E2000, but you are right about the meaning of 4 blinks.  There is a \"Troubleshooting Fan Errors on the LA4 Rear-Projection Television Chassis\" information package that is available by sending me (jehill) a private message requesting it.  See the \"Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products\" forum for more information.

    Television TroubleshootingReplacing a bulb?vampfaye62009-09-29 08:43
First 650 characters of this postHi everyone! I'm a newb around here so be gentle with me (lol).I have a Sony Rear Projection TV model # kp-48v85. It's been doing the 5 blinking light thing for ages and I finally dove into it yesterday armed with schematics. After blowing a lot of dust off of the boards and checking all connections the TV turned on for the first time in over a year. It is now showing one steady blink and the Red lamp isn't working. I've looked all over for a replacement lamp and am wondering where is the best place to go for one? It needs a 07MXC3R / 873357235. Any ideas? Thanks i

First 650 characters of this postso im a college kid who found a sony rear projection tv (model KP46V15) on the side of the road and thought "hey free tv!" so i brought it back to the apartment to see if i could fix it by looking online for similar problems. i know just about nothing about tvs but i have messed around with wiring and soldering here and there...mostly on guitar hero guitars and stuff.anyways the problem is that the tv turns on...doesnt display an input or channel label (when i change the channel or the input it doesnt show any numbers in the corner) its just fuzz so im assuming theres somet
    Blu-Ray/HD DVDBlu-ray Still No Bargainclaudio62009-09-24 18:14
First 650 characters of this postThe prices do seem to be dropping for blu-ray. I have seen blu-ray as cheap as $180 maybe even cheaper. I think blu-ray titles over time (maybe a year or so) will around the cost of DVD today. The best value so far is the PS3 since you get a gaming system and the blu-ray. I think in 2 to 3 years, Blu-ray will be available at a great cost and will replace DVD completely. Just like LCDs are replacing CRTs/Rear Projections.

First 650 characters of this postPretty much all of Sony\'s rear-projection LCD TVs have been the subject of voluntary warranty extensions, class action lawsuits, or both due to inherent latent defects in the optical blocks, which contain the LCD panels. See my updated Sony Rear Projection LCD TV support web site for additional details: http://sites.google.com/site/sonylcdrptvproblems/

First 650 characters of this postHi Hardboiled, That\'s a great deal for KDL46V5100. I\'m glad that Sony gave you that deal. I would take that deal. So for around $240, you get a bigger size television and upgrade from a Rear Projection to a LCD for under $250. The good thing is that you don\'t have to worry about replacing another bulb ever again. I applaud Sony for this one. I have seen worse deals but this is one of the better ones that Sony has offered. CobraRob and Soundtweakers, let me know how it goes with you guys

First 650 characters of this postHi everyone. I think sites like this are invaluable and I hope to get my KDF46E2000 working again. I bought my rear projection LCD TV in Dec 2006. I changed the lamp about a month ago and everything was fine until recently. The TV would turn on and then off in a few seconds and I get 2 red blinking lights. I brought it to an authorized service center and they quoted me $490 including the diagnostic fee of 45. They claim it is the "B Board or brain of the TV" that is bad as well as some other parts that they wouldn't further explain. That's why I'm her

First 650 characters of this postWe have information packages for multi-colored vertical lines for other models.  However, no information is available from Sony for blue vertical lines on any rear projection LCD mode.  Although it doesn\'t appear to be an optical block issue, the warranty for optical block replacement has been extended to 06/30/10.  It wouldn\'t hurt to contact Sony at 1-888-993-7669 any see what they say about your issue.

First 650 characters of this postI see so much about blinking lights, but I have one that doesn't.  It is the KP-61S70 61" rear projection that has run purfectly for nine years, then wouldn't start up yesterday for 'no' reason after being off for an hour.  The power/standby LED doesn't flash, it just stays on (lit).  There is no response to the remote, or the power on button on the front console.  The only way to shut off the LED is to unplug the set. I unplugged it for an hour and then replugged it; still a continuous LED (no flashing), but you hear a relay latch and then u

First 650 characters of this post$100 is a good deal. But you might need 2 to 3 people to help you move it. CRT type TV last a long time. I will check tonight to see if that model has a way to view how many viewing hours are on it. I know the rear projection has it but not sure on the CRT models.

First 650 characters of this postAs promised.  Pix of the hopefully final setup in our bedroom.  OK, we might have to eventually replace the Sony rear projection TV with something a shade newer down the road, but for the audio setup, I'm hoping this is it. We really like the sounds coming from our bedroom.  Pardon the mess, I just shooed the dogs off their (er, I mean off our) bed.  Then took the pix without cleaning anything in our bedroom. jim

First 650 characters of this postSo your TV still works from time to time? after you have disconnected and then reconnected the LVDS connector? can you send me a photo? My story is that I replaced the bulb, but because the fans hadn\'t been on in 6 months, the scirroco fan burnt out after about 30 mins of the TV working fine. Have just replaced the fan, but now I am getting these lines. TV technician is totally stumped as hes not a Sony tech and has limited Rear projection experience. I live overseas and have no sony tech here. Any help is appreciated. Thanks
