| Computers Configuration | HDMI connection from Vaio FW190 to Bravia 26" LCD | tylerrad | 13 | 2008-08-25 21:11 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Thank you for your advice friend. Just about 40 minutes ago, before I received your response, I finished chatting with an obnoxious and foolish Sony eSupport person and was eventually able to work things out.I had to change settings in the Display Settings segment of Appearance and Personalization (accessible via Personalize on the 'right-click' desktop menu or in Control Panel). I checked the box for "Extend the desktop onto this monitor" under the config menu for monitor 2.Then, yes, I used Fn+F7 to toggle between monitors.Sadly, the picture does not fill |

So it seems that there's no difference between the 77H & 78Ht.The DVP-NS77H has 192 KHz/16 bit Audio DAC/96 kHz/24 bit Digital Output. | Television Troubleshooting | KDS-R50XBR1 HDMI PORTS DEAD OR DYING? | jehill | 6 | 2007-03-25 18:39 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Unfortunately, there is no separate HDMI board. The HDMI chips are on a borad in the ASU/DSU ASSY, part number A-1152-715-A, along with a whole lot of other electronics. The Sony price is $886.27. I find it difficult to believe that the problem is with the HDMI circuitry. $886.27 would be enough incentive for me to switch to a component video connection. Personally, I would try another HDMI cable first.I just had another thought. Under the General Settings, have you checked SET: Picture Format recently? Does the |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hallo, this is normal behaviour when in the user menu the picture settings are put on ´DEMO´.If this is also in the ´PERSONAL´mode, then this could be a problem of the ´flashed´ dataset. There are several firmware versions of this set and each firmware version requires the NVM-mapping which matches the firmware version. I don´t know it for sure, but I could imagine that this is a phenomenon due to an invalid memory mapping of the NVM. In newer (LCD) TV´s the NVM-mapping version is also shown in the status menu, like the firmware version is displayed in this TV. |

| First 650 characters of this post | While the advice given here is great. I would personally attempt to treat the room first acoustically. Furniture as an example is a great treatment. Bookshelves in corners also works wonders as bass traps. Hanging pictures on walls to eliminate early reflections helps out a ton as well. I would try and treat the room first..then go back and adjust the EQ..if you are able to treat the room properly you may not need to make as many eq adjustments. Or even lower them closer to a 0 mark. A room is generally the cause for many sound issues. Also moving your speakers slightly either |
| Television Configuration | Need Help Calibrating KDF50WE655 | jttar | 4 | 2005-09-12 23:17 |
| First 650 characters of this post | JMoney1,KATZ makes a good point about calibrating your TV settings to what looks good to you. Calibration disks will give you a real good base for movies played in your DVD player but when it comes to TV brodcasts those settings may not be optimal. Likewise, other peoples settings even with the same exact model of TV may not be optimal for your room and lighting conditions. It is best to use a calibration disk to get in the ballpark and then tweak the settings to your room conditions and your personal preferences. Just be careful of setting the contrast or brightness up too hig |

I found a few threads for setting up picture and with my own personal tweaking set looks great now. It\'s the wide screen/zoom, full, etc..that are a bit confusing....which is the best to use to fill the screen for SD satellite programming and not have bars? | Television Troubleshooting | Sony KPR-53EX35. has convergence problems | Sonyfanatic126 | 2 | 2004-11-22 12:54 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Just bought an old 1991 Sony KPR-53EX35 53\" Television. The convergence is near exact on the left side of screen. I already knew the convergence was bad when I bought it. Last 1/4 of screen has vertical convergence problem. When cross hatch pattern is put up , it clearly shows that the red and blue lines are bowed on this side. The picture tubes are flawless without any phosphor burns or color problems whatsoever, picture is actually pretty damn good on the left side. My question is, the convergence board is behind this unit\'s front cover correct, and the IC chips are probably nuked to he |

| First 650 characters of this post | chinman,3. In the last couple of weeks I have spent quiet a bit of time in the showrooms comparing the WE655, WF655 and the XS955. I chose the WF655 because of the styling and the black border but it is stricktly a personal preference. The WE655 all silver chassis was not distracting or hard to focus on because it lacks the black contrast. All three had gorgeous pictures and I took the time to configure the settings alike.Joe |

| First 650 characters of this post | Jastek,
Be patient with the KV-34HS420... things will get better with enhancing the tv settings and better future ouputs from cable, satellite, and OTA (Over The Air). I have a KV-34HS510 which is the 2003 model almost identical to yours in specifications. After a year of use (puchased Oct 2003), a variety of source inputs (analog cable, digital cable, HDTV cable, HDTV OTA), a lot of \"learnin\" this is what I found out about this set:
1. Excellent Flexibility - one of the best features about this set is how flexible it is. It has numerous inputs: RF/Coax, S-Video, Compone |

| First 650 characters of this post | hi guys,Need some help on entering the service menu for Sony KV-HR36M61, which is very similar to the 34XBR910 that are available in the US. Looks and features are very much the same, although mine is the asian version, made in japan. With less customizable picture (only able to change picture settings on Personal, cant do with Standard, Dynamic or Hi-Fine setting). I would like to go in the service menu and fix the red-push in the color decoder as well as put the VSM to off. I tried the button combo method that was on an earlier thread ( I believe it was DISPLAY-5-VOLUME +-PO |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hi,I just purchased a new HD widescreen TV (KV-HR36M61 - which looks a lot like the XBR910) and am unable to make the set remember it\'s SVM settings. The picture modes that my TV supports are: Dynamic, Standard, Hi-Fine, and Personal, with the only the Personal setting allowing me to customize brightness, contrast, sharpness, etc. Needless to say, Personal is the setting I\'m using. However, upon disabling VM via changing the the servcice menu item VMLV to 0, I notice that each time I switch off and then on the TV or whenever I change picture modes, this setting goes back to its or |

| First 650 characters of this post | Nayeem13,Greetings and welcome. Go with Toli\'s advice and try one of the HT calibration/tune up discs yourself. After getting familiar with their menu\'s they are relatively easy to use and in most cases will improve the picture and sound of your setup. If after you tweak the picture your still not satisfied you can check into professional calibration which will probably cost you $250-$300(USD). I personally use Avia mostly because when I purchased it the other disc\'s were not out yet but Video Essentials & Sound and Visions Home Theater Tune Up disc\'s |

I had a Samsung DLP home and fired up and the pix was great in HD (except for some minor rainbow effect...). The SD pix was poor, however. This is a personal preference; however, we chose to take the Sammy back and try something else. We settled on the LCD projection models from Sony for their excellent SD picture (for a widescreen) and overall quality of picture, compared to the DLP and the Plasma (especially considering the price on the plasma!!!)
Check out the Sammy next to a Sony LCD projection model (quite similar in size and price) and I think you\'ll find |

| First 650 characters of this post | Lets see here...I\'m unfamiliar with your system, but I\'ll give this a try.First, make sure the DVD is set up correct. By this, I mean the Scarface DVD itself has an options menu which allows you to choose the parameters for how it will play...usually its titled \"setup\" or something similar. Go into this menu and selct \"Doby Digital 5.1\" if available. I should also state that if you\'re talking about the new re-issue of the Scarface DVD, chances are, since it was made in the early 80\'s, your chances of it being a great sounding 5.1 DVD are somewhat slim. They would have had to re |
