| First 650 characters of this post | I have a STR-DA7100ES with 5 speakers and a Sub. For the front I have a pair of Focal Utopia Micro BE(50-40khz+-3db), rear a pair of Technichs SB-M300MKII(55-40khz -10 db), a KEF iQ6C (65-40khz) center speaker and B&W CM sub. 1)If all the speakers are set to large the sub is not activated on stereo playback or surround without LF track. 2)When the rear spakers are set to small the sub is working on stereo and surround. 3)And if I am setting the Center to small the level of the sound is decrased and the bass level is louder. 4)If I put |

| First 650 characters of this post | I have a KV-32FS13 set. After a random amount of time (usually 15 to90 minutes after turning the set on, a high pitched whine startsup. Much louder on the cable input (with or without the box being on)than the other inputs. Discussed w/Sony chat. Turning the TV off, unplugging it, and turning it back on does stop the noise for awhile. However, having to do that every 15 to 90 minutes gets prettyannoying. Comcast will come out to confirm if it is a problem fromtheir end.Is this the horizontal sweep issue? Or |

| First 650 characters of this post | It’s natural to assume that technology-initiator Sony would be amarket leader in the player category, though the widespreadimplementation of the PS3 might be a bit of a shock. For those whoweren’t swayed towards using a video game machine as a high-definitionunit, Sony also wedged into the mix with their BDP-S350 and S550 models– both of which are excellent players. Naturally, Sony has followed uptheir previous line with the S360 and their step-up model reviewedhere, the S560. As with their other players, Sony’s BDP-S560 naturallystand up against the company’s versatile P |

| First 650 characters of this post | Nice Pic! Now that is OLD school build! Very solid looking build. A little too old for my funtionality taste though. Need the OSD because most of the equipment is going into my master closet in a custom rack. Sealed and vented. So, the OSD is a big factor. I would prefer to have the 777,555,333 or earlier models but the 777, .... do not have OSD except on the remote. The 4es I got is very close to want I want so it's 1 option. Although, after listening to it I would not put it in the same catagory as the 777 series or earlier series. N |
| Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/Cables | Low Volume Level on STR-DA2100ES | tomatodr | 16 | 2009-10-27 17:10 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Thank you SPCOOLIN for responding to my post. I've taken your advice and am providing answers to your questions. However, my concerns remain.Answers to SPCOOLIN's questions:First we should establish what you feel is loud...The only real way to do that is with a SPL meter... Do you have one ?I do not have one. How I determine volume level is based on how loud it sounds compared to other receivers, when it gets loud enough to start hurting my ears, and when it's loud enough that th |

| First 650 characters of this post | Reunited and it feels so goodMaxx after almost one year of listening to the DA5ES, I decided to set up my DB930 againafter your post about the Nichicon Gold Tune caps.I used the exact same settings that I used for the DA5ES for the DB930. The verdict is this....The DB930 is better in audio no doubt about it.I had my brother over who also has the DA5ES and he said the same thing. Whatever the DB930 has inside, it plainly plays louder....cleaner... much more powerful sound. He even went so far as to state that the DB930 performs better th |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hi all, hoping you can help. Have had my 7100ES for years now and have enjoyed the sound on my Definitive Mythos system. However, I suspect one of my kids must have hit some wrong button somewhere. When I play movies on my Sony DVD player, I can hear everything, but the level of the background noise/music is much louder than the vocals/speech in the movie. Any ideas what I need to do to correct? TIA for the help!! |
| Television Troubleshooting | Sony KP-WS520 blinks 6 times, is it a dead projector? | vegarptv | 2 | 2009-07-28 15:44 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hi, I own a KP-57WS520 retro-projection TV that just let me down. I lovethis TV and would like to repair it if it is not too expensive. When Iturn it on, I hear sound, and then the TV goes blank and the led blinks6 times. I checked the service manual found on the site, this seems toindicate a voltage problem. Being curious, I removed the back panel ofthe TV to see if I could locate where the sound was coming from and Icould. When I turn the TV on, the, the front panel led flashes a coupleof times as usual, and the problem occurs when the image would normallybe displayed |

A question for you Maverick, if you don't mind: How would you rate your enthusiasm/appreciation for the newer audio formats like DTS HD MA or Dolby True vs. their older incarnations? I'm guessing you have a few favorite movies where you are familiar enough with the previous version soundtracks down to the very minute aspects of it, and then sprung for the BluRay versions. How impressive were the differences? I would not mind upgrading to the newer formats if there was |

I replaced all of them with LEDs and 270 ohm series resistors. The widened prong for polarity protection on the power cord was filed down. I replaced the power cord with a hospital grade power cord. I also internally cable tied the AC wires for the power switch and transformer, holding them farther away from the wires that go to the internal speaker terminal connections. This unit has previously had some |

While the 9100ES only remembers 1 CD, versus 40 DVDs, one is better than none. Since nobody is posting in this forum, I will add another nitpick. Another dislike for the 5400ES versus the 9100ES is that pressing the "Open" button does not turn the 5400ES on, while it does on the |
| Amp/Receiver/Speakers/Connections/Cables | Used STR DA3000ES worth it or not? | emjordan | 18 | 2009-05-04 17:11 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I agree with the cautionary view of Maxx regarding the DA3000ES, although I am the original owner of a DA3000ES and have been very happy with it (paired with Polk RTi150 speakers and used for 2-channel stereo for music). No hissing and volume louder than I\'ll ever need. In your posting you mentioned that you recently bought the DA3000ES. If you have already received the unit, will you have a chance to test it and/or return it? You may find that your unit does not have the low volume or hissing issue. If there is not hissing issue, then you should |
| Television Troubleshooting | 42/50WE610 Buzzing/Lamp Problem Discussion | jbel74 | 101 | 2009-04-28 19:44 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I bought the Sony KF-42WE610 in Fall of 04. I had not had any problems with the TV until about 2 years ago when it sporatically started making a buzzing/humming noise. Then it would stop and go away. Two months ago, it kept making the buzzing/humming noise and got louder and louder and would not stop. The picture was fine and the sound on the tv was fine, but this buzzing noise was so loud. So, I talked to a tv repair man on www.justanswer.com who thought it was the inner fan on the optical block. I replaced that and |

| First 650 characters of this post | Recently my KP-53XBR35 decided not to "power up". There is no typical "relay click" when you try to power up, using either the front panel power button or the power button on the remote. I have removed the back cover and checked the three fuses that are labled on the back panel, all are good. When I first plug in the unit, I can hear a small relay click, then click again after about 2 or 3 seconds. This is not the same relay that I hear, whenever powering up or down, the normal one is much louder. Trying the power off and on buttons, yiel |

| First 650 characters of this post | Well, it's been 2 weeks since I hooked up the analog inputs. I was skeptical at first, as I had to turn the volume up louder as compared to the optical in & was not able to control the EQ any longer. It was worth the effort. The sound is more open & fantastic. It freaks the wife out at times. I used Y conns. for the back 2 channels. One question. Why does the sound dissappear when I turn the digital circuits off? |

However over this weekend i Bought a newer Entertainment center for my basement to accomodate a 36" which I am moving down to the basement and had to unplug everything and re set it up. Upon setting up the Sony Receiver it started to make a humming or buzzing noise coming through the A Speakers. The noise kind of sounds like an Xbox 360 Fan noise (if you know |
