| First 650 characters of this post | Hi,The lamp is not related to the thermal fuse. I agree with dcelec and you should get the original Sony replacement bulb. I see a lot of member get the generic version and then have issues with it. Also, I usually get it with the housing since it's pretty much plug and play. It's a bit more expensive but not that much. The company you buy from should have a warranty of at least 30 days though 60 or 90 days would be better. The official site for Sony parts is athtt |

| First 650 characters of this post | Jehill/Claudio,Please Help. Sorry for the duplicate post. I have a Sony KDF60-XS955 TV and it was flashing 30 times green plus 7 additional times green before the video came back up on screen. I went in diagnostics mode. Lamp timer read 6600 hours. I replaced the lamp today and reset the lamp timer to zero. Could not reset the Lamp CT to zero. Still shows 2000. Why? And, under the panel screen ( by pressing "Display" then "5" then "Volume +" then "Power") and then pressing "1" the panel display still shows the following:PANE |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hi, just thought I\'d give some feedback on my exploding lamp. Finally got a replacement today and was able to install it just now, I was afraid at first because I was getting 3 red blinks after putting in the new lamp, but then I read that the lamp door needed to be shut (and then I saw the little switch that needed to be pushed in where the TV would know the door was in place).Turned on the TV and voila! Let me tell you, I guess we got used to the very slow degrading lamp strenght over the years, the TV is HOLY bright now even with the 50% brightness we\'ve had it |

| First 650 characters of this post | I got great advice from Jehill. Check your lamp life first. (TV off; on the remote, press DISPLAY>5>Vol(+)>TV POWER.....Then press JUMP unti you see PANEL on left top of screen....next press 2 until you see LAMP......look for the number by LAMPCT and that is the lamp timer hours). If the number is between 6000 and 8000+, your lamp is due for replacement. jehill asked that I try that first. After reading many forum threads, I am convinced it is only that though mine also flashes 5 times (lamp driver problem). I found the original Phillips bulb at Ness Electron |

I reset the lamp timer just as you said, everything worked, I could not believe I had 12300 hours on my first bulb. I used it in reduced power. Is there any way to reset the on/off cycle? Thanks |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hello, there were several problems with the boards where the PCB itself has a partnumber suffix of -11, -12 or -13. Only -14 and -15 boards are OK.There were problems with solderings (too much \'stencil\' used), with through-holes and the uP itself. Also in Philips own sets (the uP is a Philips component) and other TV\'s which use the same processor-core, this component is failing more than expected.Resetting the operation timer is not a solution. It would be a nice designer idea, to write some code which simulates a defect after a certain time of use! Believe me, |

Press the “UP” key on the remote and the unit is now in service mode. This sequence will add two new groups

| First 650 characters of this post | Hello,in addition to jttar\'s answer to the lifetime of the lamps which are used in front projectors:Most newer Sony models do display a message \'Please replace the lamp\' after 2000 hours of operation. When you change the lamp, also the lamp timer has to be reset. When one decides to continue to use the projector instead of replacing the lamp, there is a major change to destroy the projector. It\'s understandable that one choose for this option because lamps are not cheap and the set does function normal. As a worn-out lamps gets a higher t |

| First 650 characters of this post | Thanks, Toli, for the welcome and the info. Here\'s the deal:
I own a brand new 42\" Grand Wega, but the one we are having the problem with is my father\'s.
He purchased his a little over a year ago. The bulb went out a few months back, with a little less than 2000 hours on it. The Tweeter technician came out, replaced the bulb, and reset the lamp timer, which I thought was useful because that way we would know if and when the next time it went out, if it was premature or within the standard time frame for bulb \"expiration\". So I\'m surprised this isn\'t standard proced |
