| Television Troubleshooting | KD32DX40U Five Flashes | Colin_C | 7 | 2008-12-09 06:20 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hi,I have a 2001 KD32DX40U TV that is giving out the "five flashes" fault code at the moment. I bought the set new as it had the best CRT picture that I could find in the shop.I've searched the (very useful) forums quite a bit for information regarding this, and to date, I've found the following. The five flashes indicate "IKR error at power on".This is related to the current flowing to each of the three RGB guns.I've downloaded the service manual for the set and have managed to use the remote control to access the service menus of the TV. |

| Television Troubleshooting | dark screen/no picture/nosound | lcy05 | 2 | 2008-04-29 09:04 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I have Sony Kd-32dx40u. The screen is dark, no picture and no sound. The input 200 volts only reads 192 volts and G2 reads 182 volts. If I increase the screen adjustment the screen lights up with vertical lines. The RGB input voltages are 2.3, 2.4, 2.4 volts respectively. The cathodes voltages reads R= 168, G= 164, B= 164 volts respectively. The 8v input reads 8.3 and IK reads 1.6v. If I disconnect the RGB, 8v & IK input the cathodes voltages go down to 124 volts. Any suggestion please. Thanks. |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hi all trying to fix my KD32DX40U TV which won\'t turn on and flashing 2 blinks on the standby LED. Want to fix it myself as my local Sony service centre no longer fix CRT TVs. From this forum and its mine of information have worked out it\'s an OCP fault but know that could be caused by a number of different components that are faulty. Does anyone have a copy of the service manual (can PM you with my email address) and a list of the likely components that I\'d need to check? Thanks for your helpWoody |

| First 650 characters of this post | I wonder if some kind soul can help. For the last thirteen years or so my son has happily used his old TV with a switch. It has been so long that I cannot remember what plugged into where. We gave him our old Sony Trinitron KD-28-dx40U and had a better aerial installed. Big mistake. Now the games that were through a switch aren\'t working and we must have the new aerial in the wrong hole at the back because there are three distinct bands of interference down the TV channels.Briefly we have the Sony TV. The video seems to work ok via scart. Now, to make it so that an |

| First 650 characters of this post | Hi...Well, the room\'s pretty small; 13\'8\" (4.17m) (into a bay window) x 10\'8\" (3.25m).Although my budget\'s a bit tight, I\'m not looking to buy the cheapest possible option, and am prepared to build a new system gradually. This is what I\'ve got at the moment, the NS705V is connected to a KD-28DX40U via scart & to a DHC-MD373 mini hi-fi via digital cable. I recently got an ipod and so now rarely use the hi-fi for more than the amp and tuner. What I\'d like to do is upgrade to 5.1 and possibly later add a DAB tuner aswell. |

| Television Troubleshooting | Problems recording digital TV to VHS tape if TV put into standby mode | becmark | 1 | 2005-01-06 16:56 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Wonder if anyone can help with this annoying problem I see with my Sony KD-28DX40U. This has an integrated digital Freeview tuner and I can sucessfully record programs to VHS tape...IF I leave the TV on.
However I don\'t want to leave the TV on. I want to leave it in standby mode.
When I switch the TV off with the remote...IF a digital recording event is in progress I see the power light slowly flash from red to green....indicating all is well.
BUT...after a period of time (usually 30mins to 1hour max) the TV turns itself off properley. The power light is now a const |
| Television Troubleshooting | KV-32FX68U 100Hz problem | Rhinestone42 | 3 | 2004-06-15 10:32 |
| First 650 characters of this post | KenD, Borabora is absolutely right regarding the screen flicker, as for the overall picture quality the standard 100hz picture still stamps all over all the sony 50hz models as the picture is much much sharper for a start, I have a 50hz DX40 set downstairs and a 100hz FX68 upstairs, don\'t let yourself be fooled into buying a Sony 100hz digital plus model (they cause more problems then they are worth).

| First 650 characters of this post | I\'ve got a Sony Dig TV (KD32dx40u) with built in freeview. Recently when you press the EPG (electronic program guide) button it starts to load up on the screen and starts to enter the programmes very slowly and then the screen crashes to grey and returns to the channel I was watching.I\'ve depowered the TV and tried again, and even retuned the TV.But its still the same. Is anyone else got the same problem? What is the cure if any?JR |
