| Television Troubleshooting | KV-32LS60U- Overcompensating Widescreen & Smart Bias Problem...grrrr! | Frankenhawke | 1 | 2009-11-13 14:21 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Hello. I don't know if anybody can suggest a fix, ball-park repair figure or suggest a trashing for my 2002 Trinitron. The problems are:1. that when the TV is in SMART mode there appears to be more stretch compensation on the left hand side of the screen than the right. IE: The centre is projected at a satisfactory ratio, and when figures (onscreen) are projected at the left side of the screen they are also very close to the correct ratio. However, the right side of the screen is very noticably stretched and as figures loom into or |

| Off-topic | best time to buy Sony LCD? | claudio | 3 | 2009-11-09 12:16 |
| First 650 characters of this post | It depends. Black Friday always has great deals but you might need to camp out to get the best deal. Not sure before Christmas.
I would say the best times are 1 week after Christmas and after the Superbowl since that is times when people return their big screen. And I know Best Buy will give discounts on open items. Also, another way to get more discounts is wait for the retailer 10% coupon and use that during Holidays. I used Best Buy 10% discount during Black Friday. You can buy the coupons on eBay. What TV are you looking at? Also, there are sites like slickdeals.net and dealcat |

The most important difference I have found is that Opera has on board tools that can be used to multiply its speed into 2X that of any version of Firefox I have run from 2.14 to my current 3.6 Beta 1 version which is now my alternate browser. |

| First 650 characters of this post | It’s natural to assume that technology-initiator Sony would be amarket leader in the player category, though the widespreadimplementation of the PS3 might be a bit of a shock. For those whoweren’t swayed towards using a video game machine as a high-definitionunit, Sony also wedged into the mix with their BDP-S350 and S550 models– both of which are excellent players. Naturally, Sony has followed uptheir previous line with the S360 and their step-up model reviewedhere, the S560. As with their other players, Sony’s BDP-S560 naturallystand up against the company’s versatile P |

| First 650 characters of this post | Our KDF-55WF655 is now restarting itself every 3 minutes or so (in the past it restarted occassionally, but now it's doing so perpetually). By "restart" I mean the picture goes black, audio shuts off, green light flashes as it normally does when first turned on, then the picture comes back, followed in 2-3 seconds by the audio. The Operating Instructions say the flashing green light means "The lamp for the light source is ready to turn on." Right. It was just on!Twice this weekend when the set was turned off, the red light went into a fiv |

| Television Troubleshooting | KV29FX20D. 4 blinks. Worth fixing? | Zimbles | 2 | 2009-09-29 03:40 |
| First 650 characters of this post | Dear group,I have the above mentioned set. It has a 4 blinking error code after going into its self-diagnose mode. Has a black screen, but sound. Sometimes the sound stays on, sometimes it goes quiet after a 2 seconds.I understand that 4 blinks on other Sony sets indicates vertical deflection has stopped. Is this worth fixing?? Can I do it myself?I appreciate any comments. |
| Television Troubleshooting | KV29FX20D: standby light blinks 4 times in a loop | Zimbles | 2 | 2009-09-29 03:31 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I have the same set. It goes into diagnose mode (with black screen all the time, but sound is there the first moments after start up), then I get the 4 blinking pattern). I gather from this site that this indicates that there is \"no vertical sweep\" (vertical deflection stopped). I still cannot find any model specific advise on repair. Let me know if you know anything. |
| Television Troubleshooting | Sony KV32V68 - Vertical scrolling bar on PIP screen | wilma | 3 | 2009-09-25 14:58 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I recently took the main board out to repair a cold solder joint on the vertical amplifier IC. The set works great, but there is a new problem that just appeared after I put it back together. There's now a faint black vertical bar that scrollsacross the PIP screen when it is showing something other than what's onthe main screen. The main screen is always ok. It doesn't matter whatinput is selected (cable, composite, S-video 1 or 2, etc.). My guess isit due to the difference in horizontal frequency between the two sources caused by crosstalk with one of the many wires around the main |
| Television Troubleshooting | Bad Cold Solder Joints??? | wilma | 12 | 2009-09-20 22:53 |
| First 650 characters of this post | I finally found the ambition to take the set apart. The problem was a cold solder joint on the vertical amplifier. Problem solved!
However, now I notice a faint black vertical bar that scrolls across the PIP screen when it is showing something other than what\'s on the main screen. The main screen is always ok. It doesn\'t matter what input is selected (cable, composite, S-video 1 or 2, etc.). My guess is it due to the difference in frequency between the two sources. I never had this problem before. Any ideas what I could have done to cause this? |

On analog channels, it seems like I will flip the channel and there will be no sound. I'll flip up two channels (one channel doesn't fix it), go back to the original, mute, channel, and then there will be sound. On the second tv in the bedroom, there's constant sound on the channel, so I know that it's not a problem with the cable. For what it's worth, it's a KDL-32M3000 tv that's a couple of years old. Th |
