Recommended after display the search results. I would open the links in a new window. Read the postings and when done close the window. And open the next posting that you want to read in a new window, close that window and repeat. This is probably the most efficient way.

Also, try the new Google Search which searches the entire Agoraquest website. Click here

For Televisions issues, red/green blinking lights, vertical lines, D Board, Lamp Driver and more.
I would vist our "Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products" forum and read the "Television Trouble Shooting Information Packages" thread. There are several service bulletin packages that can help resolve those issues.
For Televisions issues with blue, green, optical block, extending warranty or other related issues
I would visit our new Sony Alert/Warranty recall section at Sony Recall/Warranty Section

Television Troubleshootingdouble vision on KF-60xbr-800 tv setspodola22009-10-25 20:34
First 650 characters of this postI have looks like a common problem with double vision on my KF60xbr800 tv set. I am looking for "Image Revision adjustment for Double Image. Ghosting/KF50XBR800, KF60DX100, KF60XBR800" information package or any other ways to solve this problem. Please help me to find it or guide me what has to be done to fix it. Thanks in advance. Alex. First 650 characters of this postWhy don\'t you use the Agoraquest search engine at the bottom of the Fourms page to search for \"KV40XBR800 7 Blinks\" and see what you come up with?  I believe that it means High voltage shutown.

First 650 characters of this postWelcome to Agoraquest!  I am nto sure if it applies to the KDF60XBR950, but the \"Image Revision adjustment for Double Image. Ghosting/KF50XBR800, KF60DX100, KF60XBR800\" information package may help.  If it doesn\'t your only option is to replace the optical assembly.  See the \"Television Troubleshooting Information Packages\" thread of the \"Frequently Asked Questions for Sony Products\" forum for more information.

First 650 characters of this postDoes the red standby indicator on the front of the TV repeat a blink sequence over and over again?  If so, count the number of blinks between pauses and post that number here.  That\'s a diagnostic code. Also, a fairly common cause of Sony power on problems is one of the two MCZ3001D ICs on the D-Board.  Seach for \"MCZ3001D\" on this forum for much more information. Also search this forum for \"KV-40XBR800\" to find many other trouble reports and some fixes.Bob
Television TroubleshootingKF-50XBR800 lamp is on, but no video.INMAN32009-09-10 12:43
First 650 characters of this postI have a KF-50XBR800 that is six years old. Recently we had an electrical storm, and a few days later I tried to turn on the TV and it would not come on. It would blink five time on the standby and then start blinking on the lamp indicator for thirty five times. Anyway I ended up changing the lamp, and now I have audio but no video and the lamp is on. Any ideas? Thanks in advance,Jack

First 650 characters of this postJust so you will know, the KV40XBR800 does not use a lamp.  It is a direct view cathode ray tube (CRT) model.  If the light blinks 7 times, the most common problem is IC8003 (MCZ3001D) defective on the D board.  Search for \"MCZ3001D\" using the Agoraquest search engine at the bottom of the \"Forums\" page for other member\'s experiences with chip replacement.

First 650 characters of this postThought I'd ask one more time before getting a fork lift to remove my Sony to the recycling yard. My 40 inch XBR800 tube will not turn on. It's been a fantastic set up till now and I am hating to loose it. But I tried one thing and it worked to get the set back on and it was crazy, using a leaf blower to blow the dust out from the back. Plugged it in and it turned on. Then the TV got turned off by mistake and now no matter how I use the blower it will not come on again. 7 blinks. Some one on this site mentioned using a lamp dimmer from Lowes' to increase the power to the set to get it to

First 650 characters of this postHi Rose411, Those are very heavy tvs like the XBR800. I think they weight over 220 pounds and you need 2 to 3 people to carry those. Not sure if they are prone to shutting down but they last a long time since they are CRT and don\'t rely on lamps. As for the repair, it\'s not that difficult for a trained technican. But for the general public they are very hard to repair since there is voltage issues which could seriously hurt someone. The hard part about repairing it is that if it does go down, you have to pay a moving company or get some friends to move it to the repair shop. Unless

First 650 characters of this postHi, I have a KV34XBR800 that has the STANDYBY light blink 6 times and fails to come on - and in diagnostics mode it showed a 1 beside the  LOW B OCP/OVP I am strongly considering the IC swap. Can someone confirm that the kV34XBR800 uses the same board? I saw mention of XBR400, XBR450 etc but not my specific model. Also - I noticed that some of the pins are NOT soldered. Why is that? If I go to replace the ICs, should I also avoid soldering these legs? Cheers, Jeff On 2006-12-16 07:46, jehill wr

First 650 characters of this postHowdy All, My KV-40xbr800 has recently started to fail to turn on (intermittently) Today yes, yesterday no.  When the unit fails the standby blinks 6 times and repeats.  I've let it sit unplugged with mixed results.  I'm a bit of a DIY guy so any advice on a fix would be helpful.
Television TroubleshootingKV-40XBR800 - 7 blinks then 4 blinks after hard reset and then back to 7 blinksfuscorayj32009-08-04 22:04
First 650 characters of this postMy KV-40XBR800 would not power on yesterday, last night it did, this morning it was blinking 7 times, pause, blink 7. I did some googleing and heard to to do a hard reset by unplugging for 4 hrs. After 8 hours when plugged back in the set flashed white snow, went horizontal then gave a 4 blink code. I let the set sit for another 1/2 hr and tried agin, it flashed white snow again, went horizontal but is now back to blinking 7, pause, blinking 7. I originally suspected the D board based on what I have read in the FAQ's but am now wondering with the Vert stop issue as indicated by the blink 4.

First 650 characters of this postUpgrading my HT. Just hooked up my BDP S360 player and Denon 2310CI. Looking to replace my KV-34XBR800 with either a KDL-46XBR9 or KDL-46XBR8. Has anyone spent some quality time viewing the above two choices next to each other? If so, is the  XBR8 that much  better to justify the price increase?

First 650 characters of this postJust bought a BDP-S360 and a new Denon 2310CI receiver.  Have them hooked up to my KV-34XBR800 tube. Can't get sound and video using HDMI.  Tried HDMI fm player to Receiver (for sound) and HDMI to DVI fm player to TV (for video)....got pic, but no sound. I had technician fm store over yesterday trying to troubleshoot problem. Believe me, we tried EVERY combination of cable hookups that you could think of to get HD sound, but nothing worked. Basically he said that although the DVI input on the 34XBR is HDCP compliant, it will not do the trick that I need. The only way I can

First 650 characters of this postDear friends I have a 2002 50xbr800 and I have been nursing it along for several years. I was wondering how do I go about raising the fan speed to help prolong my lamp life. I now have it attached to my ac via a small air duct. Sounds crazy but when it is 106 f every little bit helps thank you all and I am glad I joined.
Television TroubleshootingKF-50XBR800 Power On to BLANK SCREEN, NO blinking codeddlala42009-07-13 15:10
First 650 characters of this postHello fellow Quester, my 5yrs old KF-50XBR800 recently has this BLANK SCREEN problem, When turn on, the lamp, and the screen come on normally, However it's just a BLANK SCREEN, Not even the Input display on the left top conner(such as: TV or Video1). Try to switch channel, line input (TV/Video button), nothing switched. And NO blinking service code. Now try to turn off, CANNOT turn off either, the standby LED flash one, just line a normal shut off, but didnot shut off, have to unhook to shut off. Some of you probably question how do I know is a BLANK SCREEN, as suppose to a DEAD BLACK SCR
    Blu-Ray/HD DVDA black bars questionYamama52009-06-23 07:07
First 650 characters of this postI have a widescreen Sony TV (KV-34XBR800), and just replaced my dvd player with a Blu Ray (BDP-S360).  I've watched about 5 movies so far and all of them have black bars on the top and bottom.  With my old player, most movies filled the whole screen in "normal" view. Do all Blu Ray movies have the bars when watching on a 16:9 tv?
