| First 650 characters of this post | sony bravia 50 inch rear screen projection KDF-E50A12Urecently my telly will somtimes turn its self off a few seconds after it has come fully on i have been able to get it to work when i need to by turning it on repeatedly and after about 5 goes it comes on normally. it does not always do this turning itself of routine when i turn it on but usually performs silly 1 time per day the led light seems to flash constanty from red to green and then sometimes it does a fast double red or green flash.cus it wasnt turning off all the time i assumed it was a simple problem |

I did unplug the TV for 10 min. and plugged it back in, no change. I know staying on is not the worst problem to have, but being a member thought I would post. Any thoughts would be appreciated. | First 650 characters of this post | Hi I am have read errors on my BDP-S1. Sony support offers no information that I found on lens cleaning. Idid find this and was going to give it a go. My firmware has all been updated as of 2-2009. Steps 1 Turn Blu-ray player over and remove the edge screws holding the bottom plate onto the drive using a small Philip's head screwdriver. These screws are located opposite each other on the bottom edge and one has a metal piece attached. Remember to reattach the metal piece when replacing screws later. Step 2 Remove the bottom t |

We have a KDF-E50A10, had to replace the lamp within the first year at a cost of $200. Few months later the optical block started going bad. Blue blob in the middle of picture or purple/green haze creeping across screen. Sony refuses to acknowledge the problem even though there has already been a class action lawsuit on the optical block.Unfortunately not all models including ours was in the first suit. He called Sony tech support, and they told him the only thing they can do, with my model, is to replace the entire "optical unit"...for about 1000 USD w/ labor. I just called him and directed him to your instructions. He said that you followed the exact procedure they use for cleaning these components. Really cool cabinets on these things. They are 16 ohm 3-ways with what looks like a 12" woofer , 5" squawker, and a 2" bullet tweeter (doesn't seem to be original). Anyway, they are massive at 30 1/2" tall, 22 1/2" wide, 14" deep and very heavy. One cool thing about them is the different options for hooking them up on the back. " |

| First 650 characters of this post | I have the same problem with a Coby DVD player and my Sony KDF-E50A10. Sony claimed it was incompatible. I spent the $103 to have a Sony tech diagnose the problem and he said that Sony makes the HDMI port part of a board and the board is bad. It will now cost nearly $800 to have this replaced, since the set is almost 2 years old of course, Sony now says it is my responsibility not theirs! Good luck. I had a similar problem with the cable slot and ended up having the cable and Sony at the house at the same time and they fought it out. |
