The rumor mill is running overtime today. A rumor has popped up that has Sony Ericsson launching a new Android device next week on November 3. The teaser site simply reads, “We’re looking forward to November 3rd. We think you should be too.”
The rumor that the device on the 3rd will be the Xperia 10 or X3 and is expected to be running a new interface called Rachel. The interface is expected to be along the lines of HTC Sense UI.
If the device turns out to be an Android phone, it could be running Android 2.0. Verizon will announced the Droid tomorrow reports Fierce Wireless and it will run Android 2.0 presumably, paving the way for other Android 2.0 handsets to hit market.

[boygeniusreport] We’re sure you hate it every time tech bloggers say “take this with a grain of salt,” but you’re just going to have to take this with a grain of salt. According to the folks over a mobile.se, a German PR rep for Sony Ericsson has gone on the record to state that the Idou — a Symbian-powered device with a 3.5″ touchscreen, monstrous 12 megapixel camera and GPS — is slated to commence retail sales in October with November being the fall-back date.

The mega pixel war in mobile phones is in its full swing, with every mobile manufacturer trying to incorporate a better numerical figure in its mobile phones. All the leading brands, be it Nokia, Sony Ericsson, LG, Samsung or Motorola, all have entered into this mega pixel war. The most recent 8 MP camera phones are now dominating the market, with Sony Ericsson C905 Cyber Shot, Samsung Innov8 and LG KC910 being in the forefront. The year 2008 saw a surge in 8MP camera phones.
Come 2009 and we may witness the emergence of a 12 mega pixel camera phone. Doesn’t that sound quite interesting? News is pouring in that Sony Ericsson is working on its new phone that would feature a whopping 12 mega pixel camera and would probably hit the market in 2009. First it was a 2 mega pixel Cybershot K750i, then K850i with a 5 MP camera and then C905 with an 8.1MP camera with xenon flash. And now, a 12MP successor to C905 Cyber Shot.

Sony Phone: Sony Ericsson BeiBei leaked photos

Almost a month ago we posted one of the first Sony Ericsson BeiBei leaked photos. As far as we know, the upcoming device will run the latest version of UIQ (3.3) on top of Symbian OS, and will also boast such things as some camera (we're not sure about the megapixel count), WiFi and Bluetooth. We would certainly like to see HSDPA on the list too, but we're not sure about that one either.
It's likely the Swedish-Japanese handset maker won't market the BeiBei as a smartphone — rather, they'll probably sell it to all round feature phone users, which want an extra function or two from time to time. They're already using the same/similar concept with the G700 and G900 models. In that sense, Sony Ericsson may have a winner with the BeiBei.
What follows are several photos of the upcoming device, as well as four screenshots. Enjoy! Pictures are in full story by clicking on Read More below
